about me

nicky silber is an artist and writer who has been working in the video game industry since 2012 and writing for video games since 2017. born in new york city, they and their family moved to Mexico City, Mexico when they were four years old. after graduating from Westhill Institute, they moved to San Francisco to study art. an sfai and academy of art alum, nicky studied printmaking and concept art respectively before getting their first real breakthrough in the games industry when they were hired are Telltale Games. they worked their way up from QA tester to writer's assistant and were on track for a full-time writer position when the studio closure occurred.

 

after Telltale Games, nicky began working as a narrative designer and writer of app store visual novels, starting with Pixelberry Studios, continuing with Crazy Maple Studios, and ending with Tales. they worked as a freelance portrait artist on and off in their spare time and kept honing their coding skills, including taking part-time classes in Unity. 

 

they moved from the San Francisco bay area to North Carolina in 2021 to pursue their dream of living in the countryside and began remote work at DJ2 Entertainment where they were reunited with Telltale Games alums to work on a massive interactive live event based on an existing IP. in a part-time capacity, they were contracted to lead the narrative department as the Senior Narrative Designer at Bolero Game Studios. 

 

they bring their passion for diversity and representation to every project they work on, hoping to bring their life experience to media in a way that wasn't available for them as a child.
